Ask a Cosmetic Bag Factory the Right Way: the RFQ Checklist That Gets You Accurate Quotes
A vague inquiry gets a vague quote. Factories price the risk they cannot see; if you leave out quantity, print size or destination, the number quietly includes their caution. This checklist turns your inquiry into an RFQ that gets tight, comparable prices — and a faster sample.
The ten points every RFQ should carry
Copy these into your first message. The more you fill in, the less guesswork is priced into your quote.
- Product: pouch, makeup roll, storage bag or wash bag — with a photo or link
- Material and thickness if you know it: PVC, TPU, canvas, nylon, non-woven
- Size in centimetres and quantity per style
- Printing: area in mm, number of colours, process if already decided
- Target price per piece and how flexible the MOQ can be
- Sample needed, and target sample date
- Bulk lead time and target ship date
- Destination country or port (affects packaging and carton marks)
- QC expectation: pre-shipment photos, AQL or third-party inspection
- Anything special: zips, handles, inner pockets, custom hardware
Give one number, not a range
A range like “500–5,000 pcs” forces the factory to quote at the expensive end to protect itself. Pick the real first-order quantity and describe growth — we can give a better per-piece price and show where the price steps down.
- Prices step at MOQ tiers — tell us the tier you are actually buying
- If the quantity is genuinely unsure, ask for two or three price breaks instead of a wide range
What a usable quote includes
A good quote names material, size, printing, per-piece price, sample cost, lead time and payment terms — and says what is not included (freight, taxes, tooling if any). Compare factories on the same list, not on impressions.
- We reply within 24 hours and keep the quote valid for a stated period
- Ask for the costing breakdown if you need it for internal approval
- A factory that asks a few clarifying questions is reading your RFQ, not guessing
